This serial adapter bridges UART serial data to USB as a virtual serial port. This connector allows one to communicate with a device that requires serial data communication. Driver support for this device is complete across Windows, Mac OS X (including both Intel and PPC), Linux and many other operating systems.

This connector conforms to the Acroname Serial Interface Standard allowing it to be used with several different devices. The TTL side is also 3.3 V tolerant if you are using lower voltage circuits than 5 V. Power for the interface bridge connector circuitry is taken from the USB bus.

The STX and SRX indicator LEDs are incorrectly labeled on the PCB silkscreen. The drawing reflects the proper assignment.
