The URG-04LX-UG01 laser range-finder is relatively inexpensive, accurate and easy to use. This laser utilizes a USB 2.0 interface. The field-of-view for this detector is 240°. Distances are reported from 20 mm to 5.6 m (0.79 in to 18.37 ft).
The sensor includes necessary wiring hardware to interface to the sensor via a USB connection. Device power is taken from a USB hub with the provided USB Y cable. Two available Type A ports will need to be available to supply the required amount of power.
USB Drivers
Included with the sensor is information on downloading drivers and demonstration programs. Driver support for Linux and Mac OS X systems is built in using the CDC (Communication Device Classification) specification. Check out the cross platform laser viewing application developed by Acroname.
