The SRF01 is a single transducer ranger with a one-wire UART serial interface. Up close sensing range can work reliably all the way up to the transducer. Sensing range is from 0 out to 600 cm (0 to ~ 20 ft). Also included is a polarized connector with wiring and a mounting grommet.
Two different operating modes are available when using the SRF01. The factory default mode is "Advanced Mode" which allows ranging all the way up to the transducer (0 cm). In order for this operational mode, the ranger must take 5 readings out to a range of 30 cm (~1 ft) or more. After this happens, a lock bit is internally set. The "Standard Mode" eliminates the operating requirements imposed during "Advanced Mode" with a increase in minimum operating range (18 to 600 cm (~7 in to ~20 ft.) ).
