This fascinating precision sensor uses TOF (time-of-flight) measurements of IR and a CCD camera to produce a 176x144 live video image that includes depth information at each pixel. It gives you a colored depth map in the field of view at video rates. This 12V powered device then delivers this information over a USB 2.0 transport to your host processor for interpretation and visualization. Demo software (Windows only) shows the features of this amazing device.

More Details:

We are just getting started with this sensor so there will be much more information posted shortly. Here is what we have so far:

Included in the package are the sensor housed in an anodized aluminum enclosure, a 12V wall transformer power supply, the USB cable, and a CD-ROM. The CD-ROM contains a manual, drivers for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, and a demo program for Windows. The source code for the console and data visualization demo programs are also included.

This sensor communicates with the host computer via bulk USB transfers. Users will need to be proficient in coding and comfortable with using USB in this manner to take advantage of this sensor's capabilities.

Power must be 12V +-5 percent for operation and the power consumption varies between 12 and 18 Watts.

Frame rates of this sensor vary with distance from 29fps at close range (0.3meter) out to 12fps at 3 meters.
