This is a completely contained localization sensor for use in indoor robotics. It requires a projector that can either be built from scratch, or you can use the Northstar Projector to create a pattern on the ceiling for use in determining both position and orientation with remarkable accuracy. The interface is serial and readily adaptable to advanced robots with complete serial interfaces and robust programming environments.
