The TPA81 is a thermopile array that can detect infrared in the 2 µm to 22 µm range. It has eight thermopiles arranged in a row and can measure the absolute temperature of 8 adjacent points simultaneously. This sensor can detect a candle flame from up to 2 m (6.56 ft) away, as well as other warm objects like people and a hot coffee mug. This sensor is not affected by ambient light.
