Pre-programmed driver chip for up to 20 servos. Commands are sent via I2C interface. Comes with resonator.
Manufactured By - Devantech Ltd (Robot Electronics)
The SD20 chip is a pre-programed PIC16F872 running at 8 MHz. Position commands for up to 20 servos can be sent to the chip via an I2C bus connection. This item is just a chip and resonator, the user must build a board and connectors and have a controller with I2C capability in order to use the device.
- I2C bus control, same protocol as popular EEPROM's such as 24C02
- Position control of up to 20 servos
- Servos are inactive at power up until first position sent to it
- Scan time 20 msec minimum, then proportional to number of servo's used
- Buffer can be read and written saving valuable memory resources on small controllers
- Standard mode - 256 bit resolution from 1 msec to 2 msec
- Expanded mode - Allows pulse to exceed 1 msec to 2 msec range for greater movement
- 0.5 µsec Timer produces jitter free outputs
