This compass was designed specifically for use in autonomous systems to aid navigation. Heading information is available as a digital PWM signal as well as through an I2C interface.

The compass must be mounted horizontally. Changing the tilt of the compass will effect the readings. The heading resolution is 0.1 degrees. The module is designed to operate at 100kHz I2C bus speeds, but is capable of operating at 400kHz and 1MHz when proper guidelines by Devantech are followed in the Technical Documentation.
