| Here are some answers to frequent questions we get regarding the Palm Pilot Robot Kit we are licensed to distribute for Carnegie Mellon. Which Palm handhelds are compatible with a Palm III connector? Here is the list of devices compatible with this connector. They are all obsolete and difficult to find these days.
Does the PPRK work with the Handspring Visor? The Deluxe BrainStem PPRK is compatible with the Visor, as well as Palm III, Palm V, Windows, Mac, and WinCE. It uses our BrainStem Controller in place of the Pontech SV203 and makes for a versatile kit. We also have an example outlining how to hack the Pontech SV203 for use with a Visor. Does the PPRK work with the Palm m105? According to the The Ultimate Palm Robot book, yes. You can use a Palm III connector, but it may require some mounting hacks to make it fit securely. Does the PPRK work with the Palm m500 series, m125, m130, or i705? We have details for a Palm cable hack that may allow you to use one of those devices with the PPRK. Can I get individual parts for the PPRK? Yes. We have a part list page that includes parts for the kit. We will eventually have every part used on the PPRK listed on this page. You can order replacements, upgrades or individual components for your own robot creation. |
