The LEGO Invention System is a really great kit not only for people just getting started in robotics, but also for the experienced robotics fanatic.  Aside from all the tips and tricks that come with the kits, LEGO Mindstorms related books or tips from the official LEGO Mindstorms site, there are also some excellent tips and tricks from LEGO users.  One of our customers was kind enough to start us off with this great Sharp GP2D12 interface example for creating a wall hugging LEGO robot.
