Overview

Acroname provides applications to aid in working with Garcia robots with an onboard host processor.  Software is pre cross compiled for running in Open Embedded, which is the operating system installed on the Gumstix processors.

You must be comfortable with the following tools and means before attempting to install and work with Acroname tools.

  • Gained command line access to the Gumstix Verdex Pro.
  • Established a network connection on the Gumstix Verdex Pro.
  • Familiarity with the "tar" command.  Please refer to the Linux Programmer's tar manual page for detailed information.

Install the Garcia Tools

Included in the acroname/aGarcia folder is a compressed archive of tools to install on the Gumstix Verdex Pro.  Copy the included tarball up to the Gumstix Verdex.

To install this archive, you copy the Garcia_linux_ARM.tgz to the home directory /home on your Gumstix Verdex and then expand the archive using:

root@garcia:/home$ tar -xzvf Garcia_linux_ARM.tgz
