The smart charger makes it possible to recharge your robot from a nearly depleted state to fully charged in a couple of hours.

To recharge your Garcia, turn off the robot and turn on the charger.

When turned on, your Duratrax Piranha charger should play a tune then cycle through a display of the following settings:

• * NiMH *
• 4200mAh
• 2.0A
• 10mV/C

If the charger does not have these settings, you can edit them.  The charger has three buttons: -, E, +.  Hit + to enter the configuration mode after turning on the charger.  The charger should display BATT SETUP.  Then hit E.  Use the +, -, and E buttons to change the settings:

• Use + and - buttons to set BAT.  TYPE to NiMH, hit E
• Use + and - buttons to set CAPACITY to 4200mAh, hit E
• Use + and - buttons to set CURRENT to 2.0A, hit E
• Use + and - buttons to set PEAK to 10mV/C, hit E

Once the charger is configured, connect the color-coded wires of the recharging cable into the appropriate connectors on the front of the charger.  Then insert the plug into the charging jack on the Garcia's head.  Press and hold the E button until the charger starts charging.  The charger will play a tune when the battery is completely charged.  Unplug the battery once it is charged.
