| The Garcia User | Index |
Garcia is for people developing advanced robotics applications who want to concentrate primarily on high-level programming. The users of Garcia are required to have a strong understanding of either C++ or Java programming and also be masters of the build environment they choose to use for coding Garcia applications. Examples for several common environments are supplied but ultimately the user will need to understand the specifics of the build environment being used in order to gain maximum benefit from development with Garcia. Garcia is a very advanced combination of software, electronics, and mechanics. The people using Garcia must also have advanced programming skills.
Garcia was designed, developed, tested, and refined by Acroname based on over a decade of experience working with over 10,000 customers who work with robots. Garcia is not a kit used to introduce people to electronics nor is it a toy with minimal capacity and prescribed actions. Garcia incorporates the collective experience of years of working with advanced robotics researchers and developers. The goal of Garcia is to free up users from worry of loose connections, inadequate motors, crude programming environments, and inconsistencies between multiple robots. Advanced programmers, researchers, and alpha-enthusiasts can now advance robotics without literally re-inventing the wheel over and over again.
