StemDebug FileIndex

Often it is useful to view the actual bytes that are traveling across the link from the host to the BrainStem® modules.  When the aStem library is opened, it looks for a file named "StemDebug" in libraries directory which is the aBinary directory.  If this file is found, it is overwritten with a trace of the packets traveling on the link.  If the file is not present upon opening the aStem library, no data is written.

You can think of the StemDebug file as a journal of the packets sent too and from the BrainStem modules.

If you want to add additional debug information to the StemDebug file, you can use the aStem_DebugLine routine to inject comments, timestamps, or other useful debugging information into the trace.  If no StemDebug file is present, these calls to aStem_DebugLine have no effect.

The case sensitivity of this file matters.  Be sure to capitalize the file correctly.  Also, there should be no extension on this file, even if your operating system is trying to "help" you by hiding the extension.
